Hi I’m Gemma,

A birth educator, doula, and maternity advocate based on the beautiful Central Coast, NSW. My passion for birth runs deep — it’s an obsession, what fuels my work, my study, and my belief that every family deserves a supported, positive, informed, and empowering experience.

Over the past decade, I’ve supported more than 400 families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and I’ve seen first hand how knowledge, preparation, and connection can completely change the way birth unfolds.

As a Birth Educator and Doula, my approach has always been about helping parents feel confident, capable, and connected — not just in how they think about birth, but in how they experience it. That’s what led me to Optimal Maternal Positioning (OMP). It brought together everything I’d witnessed over the years — the mechanics, the movement, and the body’s incredible design, it felt like the missing link a framework that explained what I’d been observing all along in birth and offered practical, hands-on tools to support the process.

Through my business, Birthability, I bring together evidence-based education, OMP principles, breathwork, emotional preparation and biomechanics to help expecting parents prepare their bodies and minds for birth. My approach is evidence-based, body-led, and grounded in education, physiology, and advocacy, giving parents real tools that actually work and empowering them to make confident, informed choices in any birth setting.
