Some common question that birth professionals often ask during OMP workshops/discussions is if the OMP Pelvic Alignment Protocols are appropriate with the following:

  • Vaginal Birth After Cesarean(s)

  • Twins

  • A mother has high blood pressure

  • A mother with high BMI

  • A mother with Gestational Diabetes

  • If a mother has a retroverted or bicornate uterus

For ALL exercises, high risk pregnancies or not, please ALWAYS follow the "no pain" rule where if the mother is experiencing any pain, please stop and consult with a health care professional or an alternative healthcare therapist.

Please avoid any inversions if:

  • The pregnant mother is experiencing severe heartburn;

  • The pregnant mother has hypertension;

  • The pregnant mother has had a recent eye surgery;

  • The pregnant mother doesn't want to do these exercises.

When you are expecting twins and/or if you have a pendulous belly, using a rebozo/scarf or belly belt to support your belly can be helpful for you and enable you to feel more physically supported when going through the exercises.
